Captains Weekly Update

Glad to see so many of you continue to enjoy the golf and are finally able too to enjoy the terrace after the golf.  I was very impressed (and envious) with some of the scoring over the past couple of weeks – well done to Stuart Hunter, Tommy Smith and new member Jan Hendrik Dopheide to name a few.

This weekend we will visit Naxhalet on Saturday 27th June and are at Five Nations GC on Sunday 28th June.  Both these courses are a little bit further afield than some of you may like but there are still lots of spaces left at both venues and with good weather forecast I would strongly encourage you to sign up – both courses are worth a visit.

I also wanted to look a little further ahead to advertise a club match – the first of the year given the circumstances – at royal Waterloo.  This is a great course and as last year’s winners I am hoping we can put out another strong team against strong opponents.  Lunch is also included in this event and the format is 4BBB matchplay.  We need a 20-strong team and as captain I get the final selection.  The match is on Sunday 12 July so please sign up on i-golf as usual and i will provide further details nearer the time.  The deadline for registration though is July 4th so please don’t delay.

I am very glad to see a strong growth in new members and delighted to see so many new faces at our events.

Finally, the Committee will be having its first meeting since the lockdown began and we already have alot to discuss but if there is anything you particularly want to see raised then drop us an email and we will get back to you in due course.

I look forward to seeing you on the course soon.

Barry McAlpine
