Hello all, hope you are managing to cope with the heat.  a quick summary of the weekend highlights.

Stifling heat at L’Empereur did not prevent some good scoring (although no doubt contributed to the pace of play).  Well done to Bernard Donck who took first place on countback with37 points from Rodolphe Matossian in second place and Frederic Marsan in 3rd.  Well done too also to Roberto Ghidini who beat John Hughes 3&1 in matchplay.  On Sunday on the english course at La Tournette Miguel Angel Romero took the prize in a smaller field (a few call offs due to the heat) with an excellent 38 points.  well done also to Ged Boydell who edged out Gregg Hawson 3&1 in the matchplay.

Nearest the pins on Saturday were Rodolphe on 8th and Stuart Hunter nearest the pin in 2 on 18th.

In addition to Saturday being a Summer Cup event it was also the qualifying event for the Challenge de la Francophonie. Bernard will be IGC’s representative in Division I in the Challenge de la Francophonie and Rodolph our representative in Division II.

Looking ahead to next weekend we have two club matches at Falnuee on Saturday 15th and at the National on Sunday 16th.  I would like a few more to sign up please as there is still space available and we want to put out good, strong, full teams for these fixtures.  Don’t forget the cost is only 30 euros for each match and the weather forecast is for good but slightly cooler weather.  I need to finalise the teams for both matches mid week so please don’t leave it any longer and sign up on i-golf.  Match details will follow later.
