Weekly Update 26 July

on

Hi all,

For those of you who are having a “staycation” in Belgium there is lots of golf with IGC to keep you busy too.  Let me tempt you with the following highlights:

Sat 1 Aug – Riginee: this is something a bit different courtesy of the club committee.  We will be doing a scramble competition for prizes put forward by the Committee.  What that means is that you will be playing in pairs (combined handicaps); each player tees off but you then pick the best tee shot from which each of you hits the second shot but the third shot until you hole out is then by alternate shots to get a stableford score.  There will be NTP prizes too.  This is a fun way of playing and hopefully will attract a high turnout.  if you are here then sign up on I-golf as usual.

Sun 2 Aug – Pierpont: early start and a great course to try and improve your summer cup scores.

Sat 8 Aug – L’Empereur: regular summer cup competition with a twist in that this will be the qualifying round for the club entries to the challenge de Francophonie which is played at Naxhalet on Sat 5 september.

Two club matches that i wanted to give early publicity too.  We need teams of 20 for these two fixtures which are subsidised by the club – you only pay 30 euros.  Captains pick if we have more than 20.

Sat 15 Aug – Falnuee and Sun 16 Aug at the National.

Both prestigious matches so i look forward to seeing you sign up for these fixtures.

Enjoy the golf.
